6th Window Garden 🌱

6th May 2022

6th Class have taken on the responsibility of caring for our school garden this year.

The onions, Garlic and mixed leaves are making progress in our raised beds while we hope the carrots and potatoes are doing well below ground. The raised beds require regular care and we are looking forward to making the school garden a bright and inviting learning environment with a freshly painted fence.

The classroom windowsill is now heaving with herbs and soft leaves waiting to be transplanted to the garden. We have spinach, chives, oriental greens, mixed leaves and a selection of herbs.

The herbs were sent to the school as part of collaboration with the Irish Register of Herbalists. Thank you to Elaine Hogan O' Donnell for signing us up to the HerbPatch initiative. We look forward to learning more about the sensory benefits of herbs like lemon balm and calendula.
