Catholic Ethos
In accordance with the teaching of the Catholic Church, our school is a place where each person is respected and valued and where the stages of faith of each individual are recognised realistically and responded to sensitively.
As a school community, we gather to share prayer at significant times during the school-year eg. the beginning of a new school-year, during November when liturgy is prepared to remember those who have died, at Christmas, for Catholic schools week in January, on Ash Wednesday, before Easter and before the summer holiday begins.
Prayer-time and meditation are promoted as important and inclusive as we endeavour to recognise the spirituality of all .
Preparation for the Sacraments
- First Penance, First Eucharist and Confirmation Religious instruction follows the Alive-O and/or Grow In Love programme with input from the parish led by Fr. Seán Maher P.P. and from the diocese by Bishop Denis Nulty, comunicating via iCatholic and kandle.ie .
- The Parish Sacramental programme of attendance at selected masses across school terms before each sacrament itself gives expression to the community aspect of faith development and is led by Fr. Seán.
